The “Pitch@USM” is a platform where any USM member can pitch their innovative ideas to external parties and win prize money for a chance to start-up. The main aim of the program is to ensures a secure environment that encourages growth in innovation and entrepreneurship for the students and staff of USM. The awarded seed money will range at least RM 5,000 and above depending on the nature of the idea.

To cultivate a creative and entrepreneurial culture via spin-off and start-up innovative ideas in Universiti Sains Malaysia. To be the hub for start-ups/spin-offs in the northern and neighboring regions in and around USM.To provide seed funding, catalyse and lead a start-up ecosystem in USM.
Universiti Sains Malaysia is committed to establishing entrepreneurial culture by allowing translation of impact-driven ideas, new technologies or R&D innovations to real-life application in the society.In line with one of the United Nation Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 9- to build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation), Pitch@USM is initiated as a structured program that enables eligible staff or students in USM to develop and turn their creative, impactful business ideas into an actionable solution.
